About Selena

Selena Summer, is a 24-year-old Indigenous musician and actor based in Vancouver. Ever since she could speak she has been putting on performances for her friends and family. Before she even reached school-age, she received her first guitar from her grandfather which ignited her music journey. Throughout the years, she evolved from singing cover songs, to writing her own lyrics as an emotional outlet.

In 2022, she released multiple singles including “my thoughts (for you)” and “criminal,” where she experiments between electronic pop, alternative and acoustic genres. No matter the genre, she wants to share her thoughts and emotions in hopes that others can feel validated and seen, as that is what music has done for her.

Alongside her passion for music, throughout high school she was involved in community theatre. Eventually, she wrote, directed and produced some original plays. As of 2022, she trained in film and television acting, and has pursued the film industry ever since. Selena is known for short films like “The Séance,” and television shows such as “Chicken Sisters.”

Overall, Selena hopes to continue evolving her crafts and blending her worlds of music, acting, and dance as a way to express herself and connect with the world around her.
