About Selena

Selena Summer, is a 24-year-old Indigenous musician born and raised on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil- Waututh Nations. Ever since she could speak she has been putting on performances for her friends and family. Before she even reached school age, she received her first guitar from her grandfather and that began her music journey. Along the way she evolved from cover songs, to writing her own lyrics as an emotional outlet. In 2022, she released multiple singles including “my thoughts (for you)” and “criminal,” where she experiments between electronic pop, alternative and acoustic genres. No matter the genre, she just wants to share her thoughts and emotions in hopes that others can feel validated and seen, as that is what music has done for her.

Alongside her passion for music, throughout high school she was involved in community theatre. Eventually, she wrote, directed and produced some original plays. As of late, she started training for film and television acting and has pursued that since. She hopes to continue evolving her crafts and blending her two worlds of music and acting as a way to express herself and connect with the world around her.
