Since I am an independent artist - not signed to a label - Distributer websites encourage you to make up your own record label for the copyright name that shows up on releases. After a few different options, I landed on “Lightning Strikes Records.” This is inspired by my late grandpa, Ernie La Rochelle, who named his solo music project “Where the Lightning Will Strike.” I have learned so much from him in terms of music and just in life. I would not be making and releasing music if it weren’t for him. He was my biggest supporter in this journey and was a huge part of it, so it only felt right to incorporate him in this way. As a result, my homemade “studio",” AKA my bedroom, has now become the home of Lightning Strikes Records.
